DiagnosticsMinimize

The objective for management of a patient with a possible neurological problem is to:

  1. Determine if it is caused by a problem in the nervous system
  2. Localize the problem
  3. Estimate the extent of the problem
  4. Determine the cause and/or pathologic process
  5. Estimate the prognosis with or without treatment

With a thorough examination and quality diagnostic testing, the neurologist is able to utilize his/her knowledge, skill, and experience to answer the above questions and properly treat a patient with a neurological disorder.
